Position Summary The Server Assistant works alongside the Server to provide a smooth, welcoming, and attentive dining experience for our guests. This position assists with preparing the restaurant for guest arrival, greeting and seating guests, supporting the Server throughout dinner service, delivering food and beverages, maintaining the dining room, and bussing and resetting tables at the end of service. At Fourk, our dinner service is highly coordinated and team-oriented. The Server Assistant plays an important role in helping the Server care for guests while keeping service organized, efficient, and polished. ResponsibilitiesBefore Service Prepare the dining room for guest arrival. Ensure tables are properly set, clean, and ready for service. Stock and organize service stations and Front of House supplies. Review the evening's seating arrangements, menu, and relevant guest information with the service team. Ensure guest-facing areas are clean, organized, and ready before doors open. Guest Arrival Warmly greet guests as they enter the restaurant. Confirm reservations and escort guests to their assigned seats. Help guests get settled and provide menus or other service items as needed. Communicate guest arrivals and relevant information to the Server. Create a friendly and welcoming first impression for every guest. During Dinner Service Work alongside the Server to attend to guests throughout their dining experience. Assist with guest requests and communicate needs to the Server as appropriate. Deliver food and beverages, including wine, alongside the Server. Learn the menu and be able to correctly identify dishes when delivering them. Follow table and seat positions to ensure food and beverages are delivered to the correct guest. Assist with clearing plates, glassware, and other items throughout service. Help maintain clean, organized, and properly presented tables. Monitor the dining room and anticipate where the Server or guests may need assistance. Communicate effectively with the Server, kitchen, and other team members to maintain the timing and flow of service. Follow all Fourk policies and applicable requirements regarding the handling and service of alcoholic beverages. End of Service Bus tables after guests depart. Clean and reset tables and seating areas. Return dishes, glassware, and service items to their appropriate areas. Restock service stations and Front of House supplies. Assist with assigned closing duties. Help leave the dining room clean, organized, and prepared for the next service. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age due to alcohol-service responsibilities. Friendly, welcoming, and comfortable interacting with guests. Attentive and able to anticipate what needs to be done. Organized and detail-oriented. Able to work quickly while maintaining a professional demeanor. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Dependable and punctual. Able to take direction and assist wherever needed. Able to remain composed during busy service. Willing to learn Fourk's food, wine, and service standards. Must obtain and maintain any required food-handler and RBS alcohol-service certification. Previous restaurant experience is helpful but not required. Fourk is willing to train candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to hospitality. Physical Requirements This position requires standing and walking for extended periods, frequently bending and reaching, safely carrying plates, dishes, glassware, and beverages, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
