Job Overview We are seeking a professional, dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Document Server / Process Server to join our company and to serve legal and court documents throughout Modesto and surrounding areas. The Process Server will be responsible for receiving assignments, locating individuals or businesses, legally serving documents, and accurately documenting each attempt and completed service. In this role, you will be responsible for serving a wide range of legal documents accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with procedural law and maintaining professionalism at all times. Your proactive approach will help facilitate the smooth progression of legal cases by delivering documents such as court filings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be an essential part of the legal process while working independently in the field. Duties Serve legal documents, including court filings, notices with precision and professionalism. Make diligent and professional attempts to locate and serve individuals at residential and business addresses. Complete and submit affidavits/proofs of service and other required documentation accurately and on time. Maintain accurate records of each service attempt, including dates, times, locations, and results. Travel throughout Modesto and surrounding communities as needed. Follow procedural law guidelines diligently to ensure proper serving methods and avoid legal challenges. Communicate service status and assignment updates as required. Maintain confidentiality of case information and legal documents. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary. Compensation Experienced process servers may have opportunities to earn more by taking on additional assignments. Requirements Prior process-serving, legal, investigative, courier, or field-service experience is a plus, but training may be available for the right candidate. Valid personal vehicle for reliable delivery of documents across various locations. Excellent report writing skills to document service attempts clearly and accurately. Demonstrated professionalism and adherence to ethical standards in all interactions. Capable of performing physical tasks associated with serving documents, including walking, standing for extended periods, and handling bulky materials when necessary. Familiarity with process serving records management systems and filing procedures is essential.
