Job Description

This position is at a Golf & Country Club in the Grille and Dining Room. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service to our members and guests. A successful candidate presents and maintains the utmost in professionalism. This position works under the supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager. Competitive wage with mandatory gratuities. Position Summary Provides food and beverage service to club members and their guests. Strives to provide outstanding service at all times.
Essential Job Functions:
Delivers and promotes prompt, courteous and friendly service to all members, guests and employees. Performs opening duties and side work as assigned by manager. Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating. Answers questions and suggests menu items. Turns in orders into kitchen and explains any special cooking instructions with accurate abbreviations of food items. Assembles food on tray. Serves meals according to service techniques. Checks back with guests/members to ensure satisfaction. Removes soiled dishes. Suggests and/or serves dessert, coffee, and/or after dinner drinks. Verifies accuracy of all checks before presenting to member. Presents check to member in a timely manner. Keeps tables, dining room, and server stations clean and tidy. Advises supervisor/manager of any complaints as soon as they occur. Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager. Studies all menu items and can explain dishes to members and guests upon request or if a special item is being prepared. Distributes menus and seats members/guests if hostess is not on duty or is busy. Attends pre-shift line-up meetings before each service shift. Education/Certificates/Licenses/Training Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages (varies by state). Must obtain any required local and state licenses or certifications. SERV safe certified preferred. Experience/Background/Knowledge Previous serving experience preferred (country club or fine dining a plus). Jonas knowledge a plus. Skills Ability to communicate effectively with managers and employees in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to perform basic math computations. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. At times, may be required to operate a motor vehicle.' '
