BASIC FUNCTION
To provide food and beverage service to Club members and guests which meets or exceeds Club standards. Always maintains a high standard of member service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Meets, greets, seats and thanks upon departure Club members and guests. Completes all opening, ongoing and closing duties to Club standards. Clears and resets tables. Handle complaints according to guidelines and in a way that leaves members and guests satisfied and impressed. Informs Manager or Supervisors of any complaints or concerns as soon as they arise Attends pre-shift briefings as requested by the Manager or Supervisor on duty. Maintains cleanliness of all dining areas and server stations according to MPCC standards. Arranges tables according to the appropriate floor plan. Performs breakdown and set up of dining areas and server stations for special events and functions. Ensures the safety of self, other staff, members, and guests during service by being aware of surroundings, following safety guidelines, attending all safety meeting, and reporting all potential safety hazards. Maintains hygienic food handling practices and cleanliness. Answers the phone in a professional manner and directs calls to the appropriate person. Takes dining reservations and log them into the reservation book accurately. Successfully completes (90%+) all required training quizzes. Successfully completes all other quizzes as administered by management. Takes orders and serve food and beverages according to MPCC's service sequence standards. Operates the POS system with a high level of accuracy and efficiency, making sure all items are rung up correctly and in a timely manner. Handles all cash and credit card transactions with accuracy. Keeps abreast of all Club promotions and upcoming events; can promote and communicate these to members and guests. Demonstrates teamwork by assisting other servers on the floor with bussing, side work, running food, clearing & resetting tables and set up & breakdown for functions as needed. Demonstrates the ability to work with urgency while maintaining accuracy. Performs other duties as directed. Maintains a positive attitude and takes direction without complaint or argument. Adheres to all current MPCC policies and procedures as outlined in the MPCC Employee Manual and the Food & Beverage Policies, Procedures and Training Manual.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires reading, writing, and speaking fluently in English, reading, interpreting, and understanding drink recipes and abbreviated food tickets from the kitchen. Must be able to perform addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Must have good eye and hand coordination; independently retaining and carry out instructions in written or oral form; and communicating issues, results, and concerns. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED (general education degree.) Must have a YELLOW card issued from the Honolulu Liquor Commission. Must provide required documentation as needed to complete Federal and State forms for employment. A TB clearance is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time (up to 4 hours minimum), talk, smell and hear. The employee is required to reach with arms and hands, climb and balance; regularly lift, push, and pull tables and chairs (with assistance if necessary). Must be able to lift and carry loaded large trays. The employee must meet vision requirements of close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors. Must be available to work holidays and weekends as necessary. This job requires regular and predictable attendance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to temperature changes indoor and out and working in both air conditioned and non-air-conditioned environment as well as in direct sunlight. May also be exposed to cleaning chemicals i.e., bleach, degreaser, or dish detergent.
