The Americana Diner is hiring servers who are available to work mornings (5:30 am-12pm) and midday (11 am-5 pm) on various days Monday-Friday. We are a full service casual restaurant located inside the Greater Chicago I-55 Truck Plaza in Bolingbrook, IL. Candidates must be responsible, dependable, attentive to customers, and possess common sense. A minimum of 1-2 years of wait staff experience is highly favorable. Weekend hours are not available currently but could be down the road. Ideal candidate should be friendly, cheerful, and positive as well as possess the ability to handle a fast pace environment. Communicating with clients kindly and effectively is imperative. The payrate is $9.00 per hour plus tips and since our clients are loyal, appreciative, and we serve excellent food--most of our servers make (on average) between $18-$25 per hour with tips. But every server is different so it's dependent on how great your service and attentiveness to the customer is. The right candidate must be able to stand on their feet for 6-10 hours per day, operate the Point of Sale (register) system, be attentive to people, have good hygiene, follow health sanitation and cleaning rules, and demonstrate kindness and gratitude in the work environment.
