Teamwork, enthusiasm, food and drink knowledge, and the ability to multitask are necessary for success in this position. Shakou is a restaurant focused on customer dinner experiences; therefore, we are only open evenings and weekends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Serve tables as determined by management, dependent upon the number of customers, busy times, and staff available. Interact with guests in a friendly and efficient manner; greeting customers as they are seated at the table;ensure guests? complete satisfaction by exceeding their expectations ? this includes ensuring the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided. Maintain complete knowledge of the restaurant?s food and beverage preparation and menu, with the ability to answer customer questions. Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions. Sell alcohol and food items; deliver food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers. Accurately record and account for all items ordered, process payments, and balance all sales/receipts in compliance with restaurant policies and procedures. Verifies that the food is correct based upon what the customer ordered and to customers? satisfaction, if incorrect or unsatisfied notify the manager on duty. Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments. Clear and reset tables. Check identification of guests consuming alcoholic beverages; refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age or who cannot produce an ID. Work as a team with all personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Must be at least eighteen years old. Report to work in a neat and clean uniform; maintain well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policy. Food Handlers certificates are required.
