Job Description

Ballyhoo Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic, hospitality focused Counter Server to join Pizza by Sal and Buck Russell's teamin Wilmette.
Concept Overview:
Buck Russell's is a Ballyhoo Hospitality concept located in downtown Wilmette that brings together a bakery, sandwich shop, and creamery in a warm neighborhood setting. Pizza By Sal is a Ballyhoo Hospitality concept dedicated to classic East Coast pizza traditions. The menu focuses on simple, high quality ingredients and time honored techniques. Dough is made with King Arthur flour and topped with California plum tomatoes, premium mozzarella, and Sicilian olive oil to create pizzas that are both authentic and craveable. The restaurant captures the spirit of a neighborhood pizzeria where guests gather for slices, whole pies, and familiar Italian American favorites. The atmosphere is casual, energetic, and welcoming, making Pizza By Sal a destination for everything from quick meals to relaxed evenings with friends.
Server Job Summary:
As the primary point of contact for guest interactions at the register and on the floor, the Counter Server is responsible for welcoming our guests with utmost hospitality, processing orders, and ensuring the dining area is inviting and guest ready. Counter Server must be pleasant, professional, organized and focused on guest experience each and every time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet guests promptly and professionally. Guide guests through their dining experience with knowledge and hospitality focus. Take and submit food and beverage orders through a point of sale system - Toast. Communicate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests to the kitchen. Deliver food and beverages accurately and ensure guest satisfaction. Collaborate with service staff to clear and reset tables efficiently. Manage takeout orders. Prepare the restaurant for service following a detailed checklist. Manage guest financial transactions and verify the accuracy of daily sales and payment reconciliation. Assist with cleaning and maintaining the dining area and other restaurant tasks as needed. Participate in Pre-Shift meetings and stay informed about menu items. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1 year of dining experience preferred. Maintain ServSafe Food Handlers Certification. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with Point of Sale systems (Toast preferred). Must be able to work Weekends, Evenings and Holidays Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
