POSITION SUMMARY
The Server is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service while creating memorable dining experiences through genuine hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail. More than simply taking orders and serving food, this position is entrusted with anticipating Members' needs, building relationships, and representing the Golf Club of Houston with pride. Successful Servers consistently demonstrate product knowledge, service excellence, teamwork, and personal ownership while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and professionalism. They understand that every Member interaction is an opportunity to strengthen relationships and reinforce the Club's reputation for Remarkable experiences.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Hospitality & Member Experience Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to performing every responsibility in a Remarkable manner. Welcome Members, Guests, and coworkers warmly, professionally, and by name whenever possible. Create personalized dining experiences through attentive, genuine, and anticipatory service. Build relationships with Members while maintaining discretion and professionalism. Ensure every guest feels valued, appreciated, and eager to return. Service Excellence Present menus confidently while explaining features, specials, wine selections, and beverage offerings. Provide knowledgeable recommendations based on guest preferences, dietary restrictions, and dining occasions. Accurately take and enter orders into the POS system while ensuring all modifications and special requests are clearly communicated. Serve food and beverages using proper service techniques and Club standards. Monitor table progress throughout the dining experience, anticipating needs before Members request assistance. Maintain beverage levels, clear tables appropriately, and provide seamless service from arrival through departure. Resolve minor service concerns professionally while communicating larger issues promptly to management. Product Knowledge Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of: Food menus Daily features Wines Spirits Cocktails Beer selections Club events and promotions Continuously expand product knowledge to confidently educate Members and enhance their dining experience. Sales & Revenue Growth Recommend appropriate appetizers, beverages, wines, desserts, and specialty offerings. Identify opportunities to enhance the Member experience through thoughtful suggestive selling. Support departmental revenue goals while maintaining an authentic hospitality-first approach. Teamwork Collaborate closely with culinary, bar, service, and management teams to ensure seamless operations. Support fellow teammates during busy service periods. Maintain positive communication and contribute to a culture built on respect, accountability, and teamwork. Operational Excellence Prepare assigned stations before each shift. Maintain immaculate dining rooms, service stations, patios, and work areas. Ensure tables are properly set according to Club standards. Complete opening, side work, and closing duties thoroughly. Handle Member payments accurately while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous full-service restaurant, country club, hotel, or fine dining experience preferred. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment. Basic math and cash-handling skills. Ability to learn and confidently discuss food and beverage offerings. Positive attitude with a genuine passion for hospitality.
CERTIFICATIONS
Texas Food Handler Certification (required within 30 days of hire) TABC Seller/Server Certification (required within 30 days of hire) Additional certifications as required by Company policy or state regulations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The Server must be able to: Stand and walk continuously for extended periods (8-10+ hours). Frequently lift and carry trays weighing up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Reach overhead, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, and pull throughout the workday. Carry multiple plates and beverage trays safely and efficiently. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Perform repetitive hand and arm movements throughout each shift.
