Overview L'Auberge Chez François | Great Falls, VA Thompson Hospitality is seeking an experienced and polished Fine Dining Server to join the Front-of-House team at L'Auberge Chez François , a celebrated destination for classic French cuisine, exceptional service, and timeless hospitality in Great Falls, Virginia. This is an opportunity for a hospitality professional who takes genuine pride in creating memorable dining experiences. Our ideal candidate understands that fine dining is about more than delivering food—it is about anticipating needs, knowing the menu, reading the table, and delivering gracious, highly personalized service from the moment guests arrive until their final farewell. Responsibilities What You'll Do Provide exceptional, attentive, and personalized service to every guest while maintaining the standards of a premier fine-dining restaurant. Create a warm, welcoming, and professional experience that reflects the tradition and elegance of L'Auberge Chez François. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the menu, ingredients, preparation methods, daily specials, wine and beverage offerings, and appropriate pairings. Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate special requests, allergies, and dietary needs clearly to the culinary team. Anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful, proactive service throughout the dining experience. Execute all aspects of fine-dining table service, including proper table setting, coursing, clearing, resetting, and service etiquette. Work closely with culinary, bar, host, and management teams to ensure seamless service. Maintain awareness of timing and pacing between courses while ensuring guests never feel rushed. Handle guest questions and concerns with professionalism, discretion, and a genuine desire to exceed expectations. Process payments accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Maintain a clean, organized, and polished dining environment. Uphold all food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and restaurant policies. Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative team environment. Qualifications What We're Looking For 2+ years of serving experience in a fine-dining or upscale restaurant environment preferred. Strong knowledge of traditional fine-dining service standards and etiquette. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. A polished, professional, and confident presence. Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and hospitality. Ability to describe menu items and make thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tables while maintaining personalized service. Ability to remain calm, gracious, and professional in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing outstanding guest service. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift/carry trays and service items as required. Must meet applicable age requirements for alcohol service. Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk continuously for extended periods during shifts. Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and twisting. Ability to lift and carry trays, dishes, and supplies weighing up to 25-35 pounds. Manual dexterity to handle glassware, plates, and service tools safely. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Tolerance for exposure to heat, noise, and crowded spaces. Ability to navigate dining areas quickly and safely. Strong balance and coordination while carrying food and beverages. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
