Job Description
Food Runners play a crucial role in restaurants. They act as a liaison between the kitchen staff, front-of-the-house team and the restaurant's guest. Their primary duty is to deliver food to guests and they work alongside servers and bartenders to ensure customer satisfaction. Must work between back-of the house and front of the house staff. Responsible for organizing finished dishes, ensuring order accuracy and presentation quality, and delivering food swiftly and accurately to guests. Runners/expos take the pressure off of servers, allowing waitstaff to spend more time taking orders and entertaining guests. Runners/expos manage the ticket kitchen counter, coordinate cooking times so all meals for a table are served together, check plate presentation and accuracy, and relay special requests between the front and back of house. Must work day and evening shifts, weekends and holidays.
