Job Description
Summary:
Waiter/Server is responsible for greeting customers, collecting and submitting food orders to the kitchen staff, ensure orders are correct, and delivering orders to the customers. Waiters ensure that customers are satisfied with their orders, strive to resolve any complaints by working with the customer, follow up with management and kitchen staff regarding issues, and process customer orders. Waiters are directly involved in increasing customer retention and loyalty by ensuring fast, reliable, friendly service and a consistent experience.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect and process/input orders from customers
- Answer questions about items on the menu
- Provide suggestions for food and drinks to customers including daily specials
- Delivering food and beverages to customers
- Communicating with customers to ensure highest satisfaction and resolution of any complaints
- Process customer payments
- Efficiently pre-bus tables as customers finish items
- Aid Host in cleaning tables once a customer has finished their meal
- Ensure clean work area including Clover stations and sections
- Establish effective, positive employee and customer relations
- Ensure proper appearance and grooming standards are maintained at all times
- Miscellaneous items as assigned by Management/Leadership including side work
Skills/Qualifications:
- Effective communication and active listening skills for conversing with guests
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws dealing with the food service industry
- Consistently great customer service skills and social awareness
- Ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and effective responsiveness as necessary
- Oriented toward serving others and helping customers
- Aligned with the larger team to ensure effectiveness throughout the operation
- Accountability in processing customer payments
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Acts as a team player to ensure positive customer and employee relations
