With continued growth and expansion, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Benefits and Compensation Specialist and to support our dynamic Human Resources team. Position Summary This role is the first point of contact for employees with questions about benefits. You'll assist with managing all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, leave of absence, and risk management. You'll handle day-to-day benefits tasks like enrollments, terminations, and changes, train other benefits staff, and ensure all data in HR systems is accurate and well-maintained. Strong customer service, attention to detail, and data reporting skills are key. Key Responsibilities Process and manage leave requests and disability paperwork (medical, personal, FMLA, etc.) Maintain and update employee benefits records in HRIS systems Handle benefits billing and train staff on proper procedures Create, maintain, and run reports to monitor benefits and leave trends Track metrics and provide analysis to guide decision-making Stay current on benefits, disability, and leave laws and trends Produce weekly, monthly, and annual reports on benefits performance Answer employee and manager questions about benefits, enrollments, and plan changes Support annual open enrollment, including communications and coordination with vendors Assist employees with claims, plan changes, and insurance verifications Maintain retiree insurance records Help with new hire orientations Support risk management tasks, such as workers' compensation claims and OSHA reporting Keep employee insurance and medical information confidential Serve as liaison between employees and healthcare providers on claims and eligibility issues Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills/Experience/Education 3+ years in Human Resources with specialty in benefits administration Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience Knowledge of FMLA, STD, ADA, Affordable Care Act, and state/federal benefit laws Experience with HRIS and benefits systems Strong communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information professionally Strong organizational and multitasking skills, able to meet deadlines Comfortable working with both technical and administrative staff Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR reporting tools Ability to work in diverse environmentsBenefits
