Job Description

Role Overview This role supports employee benefits programs from start to finish—enrollments, reporting, invoices, and employee questions. You'll work closely with HR, payroll, and external vendors to keep benefits running smoothly and accurately. It's a strong fit for someone early in their HR career who enjoys detailed work, helping employees, and working with systems and data. What You'll Be Doing
  • Set up and support open enrollment activities in the HR system (HRIS)
  • Answer employee questions about benefits or guide them to the right resource
  • Process benefit enrollments, life events, and employee status changes
  • Review and submit benefit invoices for payment
  • Maintain accurate benefit records and documentation
  • Run reports related to benefits, leave of absence, and COBRA
  • Support wellness programs and employee communications
  • Coordinate leave-related benefit deductions and track payments
  • Help audit data between HR systems and benefits platforms
  • Assist with workers' compensation claims and documentation
  • Identify ways to improve workflows and reduce errors Pay, Schedule & Logistics
Pay:
$21/hour
    Schedule:
    Monday-Friday, standard business hours
      Work Setting:
      Fully remote (hybrid option if located in San Diego)
        Duration:
        3-month contract with potential to extend or convert

          • Accurate and timely benefit enrollments and updates
          • Clear, helpful responses to employee questions
          • Clean and consistent data across HR and benefits systems
          • On-time invoice processing and reporting
          • Strong organization across multiple tasks and deadlines
          • Continuous improvement in processes and accuracy Requirements 
          • Must-Have
          • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
          • 1-2+ years of HR experience or 1+ year in benefits administration
          • Basic understanding of HR compliance and benefit processes
          • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
          • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
          • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
          • Clear and professional communication skills
          • Nice-to-Have
          • Experience with HR systems (UKG/UltiPro preferred)
          • Exposure to COBRA, leave of absence, or wellness programs
          • Experience processing invoices or working with tools like Concur
          • Experience in larger organizations (1,000+ employees)
          • Familiarity with benefits audits or system integrations Who Will Thrive

          Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following:
