Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HR and Payroll Administrator to join our team! In this vital role, you will oversee the accurate processing of payroll, ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, and manage HR systems to support our workforce effectively. Your expertise will help maintain confidential employee information, streamline payroll operations, and ensure timely and precise compensation for all staff. Duties Manage payroll processing using systems such as Paychex, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Administer HRIS (Human Resource Information System) databases to update employee records, track attendance, benefits, and compliance data. Reconcile payroll data through account reconciliation procedures and double entry bookkeeping to ensure financial accuracy. Prepare journal entries related to payroll expenses and labor costs in accordance with governmental accounting standards. Ensure compliance with employment laws, tax regulations, and labor law requirements by staying current on legal updates and implementing necessary changes. Handle confidential information with integrity while managing sensitive payroll data and employee records securely. Support payroll tax filings, including deductions for federal, state, and local taxes while ensuring adherence to payroll tax laws. Collaborate with accounting teams on financial concepts related to payroll expenses and labor costs for accurate reporting. Utilize spreadsheets and financial software for data entry, analysis, reporting, and audit purposes. Skills Extensive experience with Paychex, or other payroll software systems; technical support skills are highly valued. Strong knowledge of employment & labor law compliance as well as tax law related to payroll processing. Proficiency in accounting along with advanced spreadsheet skills for analysis and reporting purposes. Solid understanding of corporate accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy Ability to analyze financial data critically while maintaining attention to detail in account reconciliation tasks. Experience handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
