Job Description

We run a network of thrift stores that include EcoThrift, Texas Thrift, Unique Thrift, and MyThriftStores across California, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Virgina, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Texas. Every day, we sort through over 231,000 pounds of items to help keep usable goods out of landfills. By reselling and recycling apparel, we reduce waste and help fund important social causes. Our mission is to create a more sustainable retail system that's good for the planet and gives back to the community. Job Summary The HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team. This position assists with employee records, onboarding, recruiting activities, HR systems, compliance documentation, and general employee inquiries. The position requires an organized, detail-oriented, professional that is comfortable handling confidential information in a fast-paced environment. Duties and Responsibilities Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Human Resources department. Assist with new hire onboarding, including preparing and reviewing employment documents and ensuring required paperwork is completed. Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files while ensuring confidentiality. Assist with entering and updating employee information within HR systems. Assist with employment verifications, and other pre-employment requirements. Respond to routine employee and manager questions regarding HR processes, policies, benefits, and documentation. Assist with employee status changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations. Track required documentation and follow up with employees or managers regarding incomplete information. Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information at all times. Perform additional HR and administrative duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED preferred One (1) to two (2) years of administrative, Human Resources, recruiting, or related experience preferred. Retail experience is a plus Physical and Scheduling Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May occasionally need to stand, walk, bend, or reach during normal office activities. Regularly required to talk and hear during phone calls and virtual meetings. Occasionally required to lift and carry light objects up to 10 pounds (computer, files, office supplies) May require occasional travel to hiring events or store location
Pay:
From $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
