Director, Human Resources
Job Description
Leer, Inc., a leading manufacturer of commercial refrigeration solutions, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Human Resources to lead and manage all HR functions across our New Lisbon, Wisconsin and Carroll, Iowa facility. This role is a key member of the leadership team and will report directly to the President, Leer Inc. The Director will provide strategic HR leadership, ensure compliance, and foster a culture that supports employee engagement, safety, and organizational success.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
Develop team capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
Strategic HR Leadership:
Partner with the President and leadership team to align HR strategies with business objectives. Drive initiatives in talent acquisition, workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development.
Employee Relations & Engagement:
Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees on HR matters. Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
Compliance & Policy Management:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain and update HR policies and procedures.
Safety & Risk Management:
Oversee safety programs and initiatives in collaboration with the Safety Coordinator. Champion workplace health and safety standards across both facilities.
HR Operations:
Manage compensation, benefits, and payroll processes in partnership with Finance. Oversee HR systems and reporting to support data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree or HR certification preferred). Minimum 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles. Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and safety regulations. Proven ability to lead teams and influence at all levels of the organization. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred. The Human Resource Director leads all HR functions for the three Leer, Inc. business locations. The HR Director will strategically align long-term and short-term Human Resources goals with the long-term vision of the business. This position will report directly to the President of Leer, Inc. acting as the functional resource to the management level staff.
