The Role Reporting to the CEO, this role supports HR for about 60 employees across multiple locations (about 70%) and provides executive support to the CEO (about 30%). You'll work from the CEO's direction and standards to create and maintain our HR forms, policies, and documentation, using AI and Microsoft 365 as everyday tools. Employee conversations and decisions are handled by our managers and Director of Operations; HR supports them with documentation and follow-through. Training for the first few months will be in Eagle River. Once trained, will move to Anchorage office. What You'll Do - HR (about 70%) Draft HR forms, policies, SOPs, and job descriptions using AI tools, following company format and standards Write and maintain an SOP for every HR process you own, in company format, so any process can be picked up by someone else Maintain org charts, personnel files, and HR records Document employee matters and gather information for managers, the Director of Operations, and the CEO Coordinate recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding, including seasonal hires, new-hire email, and system access setup Support our

logs), and documentation Administer workers' compensation: report claims to our carrier and the state on time, maintain claim files, coordinate with adjusters, and track return-to-work and light duty Process incident reports and vehicle claims: collect reports and documentation, file with our insurance carriers, and maintain claim files through resolution Track licenses, certifications, and required training across locations Maintain HR libraries and workflows in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Support payroll, benefits, and leave administration Run employee surveys and exit interviews, and summarize the results Keep an HR metrics report for the CEO (headcount, turnover, open positions, claims) Maintain the company contact directory and emergency contact lists What You'll Do - Executive Support (about 30%) Manage the CEO's calendar, meeting scheduling, and travel arrangements Prepare meeting agendas, take notes, and track action items to completion Draft correspondence, reports, and presentations for the CEO using AI and Microsoft 365 Maintain a company compliance calendar: business and establishment license renewals, insurance renewals, required filings, and key contract dates Track vendor contracts and renewal dates Draft internal company announcements and employee communications Coordinate company meetings, trainings, and employee recognition events Administrative projects assigned by the CEO, such as document organization and workflow improvement First-Year Projects Clean up and standardize onboarding across all locations Maintain the employee handbook and HR forms Track training, licenses, and certifications Organize approved documents in Microsoft Teams Build manager checklists (onboarding, offboarding, documentation) Monitor and track open hiring requests Standardize incident report and claims forms and filing Document all HR processes as SOPs (onboarding, claims, incident reports, license tracking, hiring requests) Build the company compliance calendar What You Bring 2-4 years of HR experience Experience supporting an executive (calendar, correspondence, meeting follow-up) Regular, hands-on use of AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to draft and edit documents Strong Microsoft 365 skills: Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Forms, and Outlook Experience with workers' compensation and insurance claims; Alaska experience a plus Strong writing, organization, and attention to detail Discretion with confidential information Comfort taking direction and working to set standards SHRM-CP or PHR a plus Legacy Funeral Homes, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
