Acting under direct supervision, the Licensure Investigations Senior Support Analyst provides high-level clerical or administrative and investigative support services for the Investigation Unit within the Office of General Counsel of the Public Education Department. This position will support the Investigations team by providing case management and processing of complaints of ethical and/or professional misconduct issues alleged to be committed by a professional licensee within the New Mexico Public Education System. The Licensure Investigations Senior Support Analyst will provide critical assistance to the Licensure Investigations Senior Manager and the Investigations Team by providing excellent customer service to a diverse populace; conducting time-sensitive and confidential inquiries; case management of open investigations; gathering of essential documentation; audio/video recordings or applicable police reports and court documents.

The role of the Public Education Department's Investigations is to gather the facts in a thorough and unbiased manner about complaints of ethical misconduct alleged to have been committed by a school district personnel, a school employee, a school volunteer, or a contractor/contractor's employee.

How does it get done? The Licensure Investigation Senior Support Analyst is responsible for the timely processing of complaints opened for investigation and expeditiously gathering relevant information for the investigation file. Thoroughly gather information, documents, and/or other evidence to provide factual context for investigators to complete the investigation. Manage office records in accordance with established systems as well as policies and procedures. Draft and serve document requests, subpoenas, Notices of Investigation, and sending notifications of receipt of information received. Ability to answer telephones, answer email correspondence, provide customer service and greet visitors. Provides customer service information of general procedural information without giving legal advice. Provides assistance and follow-up on inquiries. Interact calmly and professionally with irate individuals. Interact with internal and external customers civilly and with respect. Maintain confidential the items collected and aspects of the investigation. Conduct an impartial and reliable investigation into licensure application matters and/or resignation of employment without proper notification. Who are the customers? The Licensure Investigation Senior Support Analyst supports a wide range of internal and external constituents, such as the investigations, prosecutions and licensure teams, other PED staff, as well as School Districts and School Personnel, educators, parents, law enforcement, attorneys and the public. Ideal Candidate The Licensure Investigation Senior Support Analyst supports a wide range of internal and external constituents, such as the investigations, prosecutions and licensure teams, other PED staff, as well as School Districts and School Personnel, educators, parents, law enforcement, attorneys and the public. Minimum Qualification Associate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting and one (1) year of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Office setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Work must be performed in line with strict time constraints. This role may involve exposure to sensitive and potentially distressing materials. Ability lift and carry 25 pounds.
