Job Description

Description We are looking for an HR Specialist 1 to support core human resources operations for a Long-term Contract opportunity in Memphis, Tennessee. This role will help maintain compliant HR practices by assisting with job classification, compensation-related documentation, personnel records, and policy guidance for employees and managers. The ideal candidate is organized, service-oriented, and comfortable handling administrative HR work with accuracy and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to employees and supervisors on workplace policies, benefits, compensation practices, and applicable employment regulations.
  • Review roles to help determine job classifications, including exemption status and appropriate pay alignment.
  • Draft and update position summaries, classification materials, and compensation documentation to support HR administration.
  • Maintain personnel files, employee records, and handbook content with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Create HR reports, organizational charts, workflow documents, and career path summaries to support analysis and decision-making.
  • Assist with compliance-focused HR activities related to hiring practices, personnel procedures, and policy interpretation.
  • Support compensation and job evaluation efforts by organizing data and preparing documentation for review. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience in customer service, human resources support, or a similar administrative environment.
  • Working knowledge of employment-related policies and legal guidelines, including equal employment opportunity practices.
  • Familiarity with compensation structures, benefits administration, and job classification concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other standard computer applications.
