Job Description

Lead recruiting and marketing efforts for campus-based programs within the College of Engineering including K-12 outreach and recruitment initiatives. The enrollment coordinator will report through the College of Engineering Enrollment Management department, with a dual report to the Office of Admissions and Recruitment. The Coordinator of Marketing and Communication drives undergraduate recruitment, brand awareness, and outreach for the College of Engineering at Lamar University. Serve as the lead for recruiting and marketing activities and initiatives for the College. Build and manage recruitment partnerships with community-based organizations, high schools, 2-year colleges, technical centers, and businesses to expand outreach. Collaborate with stakeholders to design college-prep programs and partner with Admissions to organize, schedule, and promote off-campus recruitment visits that attract top-tier undergraduate students. Serve as the college web liaison, updating and maintaining websites while focusing on accessibility and SEO while providing training and support for other users within the college. Collaborate with the college to manage social media platforms to present a cohesive presence by featuring student, faculty, and industry spotlights. Oversee internal and external newsletters, manage digital and print marketing publications, and develop an inventory plan to track COE promotional inventory and swag for events. Work with the college on branding and messaging strategies for programs through targeted research while in compliance with university overarching strategies. Coordinate recruitment activities with directors and chairs and the Office of Admissions. Specifically, open house events, recruiting events, summer programs, and New Student Orientation. Collaborate with the College Enrollment Management team, Office of Admissions, Office of Student Aid, and Welcome Center to meet enrollment goals through the recruitment of highly achieving prospective students, utilizing the university CRM (Slate). Provide professional correspondence, guidance, and referrals to prospective students and families on application and pre-college requirements. Identify, nominate, and promote scholarship opportunities to high-caliber prospective students. Recruit, train, and deploy college student ambassadors and student workers to support all role initiatives. Assist in outreach efforts by analyzing recruitment and enrollment data and by forming relationships with external constituents within school districts and others within the community. Develop content for recruitment purposes in collaboration with subject matter experts. Execute personalized Slate nurture campaigns and multi-channel outreach (email, text, phone) at key decision milestones like application, acceptance, and deposit deadlines. Create, Collaborate, and distribute news releases to promote students, faculty, staff, and events. Work with the Office of Alumni Affairs to promote programs to graduates and assist with giving day event activities. Work with Enrollment Coordinators across all colleges in planning joint activities and sharing best practices. Provide support for presentations by ensuring consistent and up-to-date messaging. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; preferably in marketing, communication, business, or related field. 2 years of experience in academic services, student support services, case management, or related experience. Experience managing projects and working within time constraints.
Desired Qualifications:
Prior experience in college recruitment environment, demonstrating familiarity with details and demands of marketing, student outreach and recruitment, enrollment, and yield. Demonstrated success in development and executing plans to meet goals. Proficiency and experience in utilizing a range of technologies, which may encompass, but not limited to CRM systems (Slate preferred), Web content management systems, social media platforms and Adobe or other related design platforms. Proficiency in advanced technical and computer skills to support administrative functions, including but not limited to MS Office Suite with a focus on PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with electronic calendar management and video conferencing applications such as: Outlook, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Be a team player by providing quality service to all levels of personnel and students through a collaborative approach to work with a positive attitude. Ability to work occasional nights/weekends on event days.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, load and transport marketing materials, displays and other equipment up to 35 lbs.
Job Conditions:
This role entails office-based tasks with occasional on campus responsibilities, and rare occasions may involve attendance at off campus events.
