Job Description

Job Description Lorain County JVS is a Career and Technical Education Training Center. It consists of a public high school for students grades 9-12 and the Adult Career Center which offers training and educational opportunities for adults.
STARTING DATE
August 2026
SALARY:
Appropriate step on Teacher's Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education.

Principal

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Significant industry experience in precision machining, CNC machining, or manufacturing technology (typically 5+ years preferred). Willingness and ability to obtain an Ohio Career Technical Workforce Development Educator License through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. Strong knowledge of machining equipment, tooling, and measurement instruments. Commitment to working with high school students and developing the next generation of skilled trades professionals. Deliver high-quality instruction in precision machining and manufacturing for students in grades 9-12.
Teach core machining skills including:
Manual machining (mills, lathes, grinders) CNC machining and programming Blueprint reading and GD&T Precision measurement and inspection Shop safety and OSHA practices Materials and manufacturing processes CAD software such as Mastercam Provide hands-on lab experiences aligned with industry standards and workforce expectations. Integrate employability skills such as teamwork, communication, problem solving, and professionalism into instruction. Maintain and organize machining labs, equipment, and tools while ensuring a safe learning environment. Build relationships with local manufacturing partners to support work-based learning opportunities, internships, and advisory input. Support students in earning industry-recognized credentials (e.g., NIMS certifications). Monitor and assess student learning through formative and summative assessments. Collaborate with other instructors, counselors, and administrators to support student success. Participate in professional development and maintain awareness of emerging manufacturing technologies. Ability to work with students of varied ability levels Strong instructional and organizational and behavioral strategies for working with students Team player - willingness to work effectively in a team environment Ability to utilize technology in a classroom setting and communicate with parents/students using various technologies
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to troubleshoot, instruct and self-educate regarding emerging and existing technologies OSHA Certified Experience working with community and business representatives Experience working with high school age students
