Dog Groomer Suds N Paws Dog Grooming El Cajon, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $17.50 - $20.00 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Companion animal handling Customer communication Nail care Pet sitting Interpersonal skills Customer service Cleaning Full Job Description Responsibilities Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, pet coat styling, and nail trimming to meet each dog's specific needs and breed standards Handle dogs with care and confidence, utilizing animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff during grooming procedures Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, including sanitizing tools and work areas after each use Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences, provide pet care advice, and discuss any health concerns observed during grooming Assist with pet handling during appointments, ensuring animals are comfortable and relaxed throughout the process Support additional animal care activities such as pet sitting or assisting veterinary staff when needed Lift heavy grooming equipment or supplies safely to prevent injury while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment Experience Prior experience in dog grooming or pet styling is highly preferred Background in veterinary-related roles such as veterinary technician experience or veterinary assistant experience is a plus Knowledge of animal handling, animal restraint techniques, and pet coat styling is essential Familiarity with dog training, veterinary care procedures, or equine experience can enhance your ability to handle diverse animals effectively Strong communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members confidently Experience in customer service roles demonstrates your ability to create positive client interactions Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods is required PAY can be discussed for either hourly or commission + pooled tips.
