Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Mobile Service Dog Groomer, where your passion for animals and exceptional grooming skills will make a meaningful difference in the lives of service dogs and their handlers. In this energetic role, you will provide professional grooming services directly at client locations, ensuring each service dog looks and feels their best while maintaining their health and comfort. Your expertise in animal handling, grooming techniques, and communication with pet owners will help foster trust and satisfaction, creating a positive experience for every pet and owner you serve. Duties Deliver comprehensive grooming services tailored specifically for service dogs, including bathing, brushing, trimming, and coat styling to meet individual needs. Perform pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other animal care procedures with gentle restraint techniques to ensure safety and comfort. Handle animals with care, utilizing proper restraint methods to maintain safety for both pets and groomers during grooming sessions. Communicate effectively with pet owners or handlers to understand specific grooming requirements and provide advice on pet coat maintenance. Conduct animal handling tasks such as veterinary-assisted procedures or veterinary technician support when necessary. Manage heavy lifting of grooming equipment or animals when required, ensuring proper technique to prevent injury. Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools and work areas while adhering to health and safety standards at all times. Requirements 2 years experience in dog grooming, pet coat styling, or animal handling within a professional setting. Knowledge of dog training principles, veterinary procedures, veterinary technician or assistant experience is highly desirable. Strong skills in animal restraint, pet nail trimming, and general animal care practices. Ability to handle animals safely during grooming procedures, including those requiring specialized handling such as service or therapy dogs. Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners about grooming needs and animal health concerns. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during grooming sessions. Prior experience with veterinary or equine environments is a plus but not required; training will be provided for specific mobile service tasks.
