We are seeking experienced and dependable Dog Handlers who take pride in providing high-quality care and understand the responsibility that comes with working in a professional dog care environment. This is not a seasonal or temporary position.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for candidates who: Have previous professional pet care or dog-handling experience. Are available to work at least four shifts per week, including some weekends and holidays. Are punctual, dependable, and committed to consistent attendance. Are proactive and able to recognize what needs to be done without requiring continuous direction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and care for dogs while maintaining their safety and well-being. Manage playgroups based on personality, play style, age, size, and behavior. Continuously monitor dog interactions and adjust playgroups when necessary using appropriate handling techniques. Maintain active visual supervision and engagement with dogs throughout the shift. Follow the PAWS Daily Club Schedule, including outdoor play, feeding, rest periods, cleaning, and daily transitions. Prepare and organize meals and complete scheduled feedings according to individual care instructions. Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized environment at all times. Follow established cleaning protocols, including daily cleaning and sanitation of the club, play areas, dog runs, kennels, equipment, and common areas. Work collaboratively with other Dog Handlers to complete responsibilities and maintain an efficient daily schedule. Take initiative to assist with additional responsibilities when assigned tasks are complete. Communicate behavioral, health, safety, or wellness concerns to management promptly. Assist with dog check-ins and check-outs and ensure safe transfers between clients and the club. Interact professionally and courteously with clients. Assist with photos, report cards, enrichment activities, and other club services as needed.

Has a genuine interest in professional dog care and canine behavior. Demonstrates a strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Is comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment. Is proactive, observant, and able to anticipate what needs attention. Is solutions-oriented and capable of problem-solving. Can work independently while also contributing to a team. Is comfortable managing dogs of different breeds, sizes, personalities, and activity levels. Can follow established procedures consistently and respond well to direction and feedback. Understands that cleaning and sanitation are an essential part of professional dog care. Maintains a professional demeanor and is comfortable communicating with clients.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 21 years old. Must be physically capable of standing, walking, bending, lifting, performing extensive cleaning, and safely handling dogs throughout the shift. Must be willing to undergo a background check and provide professional references. Must adhere to PAWS policies regarding attendance, tardiness, and a reliable source of transportation. Must have reliable transportation and consistently report to scheduled shifts on time.
Pay:
$17.50 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 35.0 per week
