In this dynamic role, you will provide energetic, loving, and responsible care for dogs and cats in their homes or outdoor settings. Your enthusiasm for animals and commitment to their well-being will help create positive experiences for pets and peace of mind for their owners. This position offers flexible hours perfect for animal lovers seeking to make a meaningful difference while enjoying the outdoors and engaging with a variety of pets. Responsibilities Lead engaging dog walks, ensuring safe outdoor exercise and mental stimulation tailored to each dog's needs. Provide attentive and compassionate care for cats, including feeding, litter box maintenance, and playtime. Administer pet care routines such as administering medication or special dietary needs when required. Practice animal handling techniques with patience and confidence, including animal restraint when necessary. Communicate effectively with pet owners about their pets' activities, behaviors, and any concerns observed during visits. Maintain a high level of safety by following proper animal restraint procedures and handling protocols. Support overnight in-home pet sitting assignments, ensuring pets feel comfortable and secure in their environment. Requirements Prior experience with dog training, animal handling, or veterinary-related roles such as veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable. Knowledge of pet behavior, animal restraint techniques, and pet exercise routines. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions with outdoor work experience preferred. Excellent client communication skills to provide updates and address owner questions confidently. Ability to handle multiple pets responsibly while maintaining a lively and positive attitude. Strong background in pet sitting, animal care, or related fields such as veterinary experience or equine experience is a plus. Reliable transportation to travel between client locations on a flexible schedule.
