Duties Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, administering medications, and monitoring health status Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through thorough sanitization and grooming routines Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety as well as your own Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and outdoor activities to promote physical activity and mental stimulation Support veterinary staff by observing animal behavior, noting any concerns, and assisting with basic animal restraint during examinations or treatments Perform routine cleaning tasks such as disinfecting surfaces, laundry, and waste disposal to uphold sanitation standards Engage with pet owners through friendly communication, answering questions about pet care services and facility policies Requirements Prior veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or kennel work demonstrating strong animal handling skills Ability to lift heavy objects (team lifting encouraged) such as bags of supplies or large animals safely and efficiently Knowledge of animal behavior, grooming techniques, and pet care best practices Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions with outdoor work experience preferred Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward pet owners and team members Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitization protocols specific to pet care facilities Ability to follow safety procedures related to animal restraint and handling at all times This role is perfect for passionate animal lovers eager to make a difference in the lives of pets while developing valuable skills in veterinary assistance, animal behavior management, and facility sanitation.
