As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for the overall care and grooming of pets, ensuring they look and feel their best. This role requires both technical skills in grooming and a compassionate approach to handling animals. Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, and styling of various breeds of dogs. Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, providing recommendations for care as needed. Handle pets safely and comfortably during grooming sessions, using appropriate restraint techniques when necessary. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized. Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pets' needs and grooming options. Monitor the health and behavior of pets during grooming appointments, reporting any concerns to pet owners or veterinary staff. Assist with additional pet care tasks such as nail clipping, ear cleaning, and brushing as required. Skills Proficient in pet grooming techniques with experience handling various breeds. Knowledge of dog training principles is a plus, enhancing the ability to manage pets effectively during grooming sessions. Previous veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable. Strong animal handling skills with the ability to work safely with pets of all temperaments. Familiarity with animal restraint methods to ensure safety for both the groomer and the pet. Experience in kennel operations or pet sitting can be beneficial in understanding animal behavior.
