PET GROOMER IN WEST DES MOINES
Shaggy to Chic Boutique is a high-end salon that does appointment-based, express-style grooming. This allows the groomers to have a one-on-one relationship with the dogs and their owners, while also minimizing the dog's time in the salon and stress levels. Average groomer does 4-6 dogs a day depending on how they set their hours. Small quiet, but busy salon. Receptionist provided. Commission-based pay at high-priced busy salon plus tips. Continuing education focused. All Stylists receive a yearly education budget. The Shaggy to Chic Boutique team brings in nationally renowned groomers for private sessions and attends grooming seminars, conferences, etc. All Stylists required to be Pet First Aid & CPR certified (certification class will be paid for by the business if not already certified). Responsibilities Grooming Dogs - treating each pup as an individual the adjusting to their needs. The average small dog should be completed start to finish in 1 hour 30 minutes or less, large dogs should be finished in 2 to 2 ½ hours. Keeping a clean and tidy workstation. General facility cleaning. Understanding all bathing and grooming routines. Speaking with clients and determining what works best for their pet.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Team Player Customer Satisfaction Driven Detailed Oriented Highly Adaptable to various situations and clientele needs Dog Grooming Experience (Preference giving to those who are comfortable with pattern cuts and anxious dogs) We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Available shifts and compensation:
Set your own schedule. Shift times flexible between the hours of 8 am to close (5 or 6 pm depending on the day of the week). One weekend day, every other week required . 32 per week minimum for full-time position. Part-time candidates will also be considered.
