An Animal Care Worker or Manager manages animal care and grooming for a retail store that sells pets or for a pet grooming business. May also provide animal care and grooming at a kennel. Works with animals in shelters or rescue organizations. Works primarily with dogs and cats. Assists veterinarians with vaccinations or other procedures; screens people who want to adopt an animal from a shelter and provides information about caring for animals.
Job Overview We are now hiring for a weekend Animal caretaker for our vet clinic, starting in August. Weekend Animal Caretaker is responsible for the care of hospitalized and boarding pets at our facility (walking, feeding, medicating, cleaning cages, etc) Saturday mornings and Sundays on alternating weekends. The ACT also assists in veterinary appointments Saturday morning (8am to 1PM). This position is ideal for a student as we do not require any hours during the week, except for periodic training opportunities. Usually averages 8 to 12 hours every other weekend.
