Job description Staff are paid weekly on Friday for the previous Sunday thru Saturday 100 % of tips are paid out equally to staff weekly also based on hours worked Starting pay is $15.00 to $16.00 an hour but this is negotiable beyond this if you have experience We are looking for Afternoon availability Sweet Paws Retreat is the leading dog care facility in Yorkville, IL with a focus on our clients and the care of our employees. We are seeking a reliable Dog Daycare Attendant to provide excellent care to dogs staying at our facility. The ideal candidate is someone who loves animals and can provide high-quality pet care for our customers while their dogs lodge with us. Provide a fun, safe, and clean environment for dogs and put customers at ease, assuring them that their pets will be safe while in our care. You will also inform customers of the various grooming, training services, and retail we provide. Prior experience in animal care or kennel management is preferred but not required. There will be interactions with the dogs during the shift. We are open daily from 7am to 6pm. Shifts can start as early as 6am and end as late as 8pm Duties and Responsibilities Give dogs food and water throughout the day Handle bathing and light grooming tasks Clean and maintain kennels, keeping them free of waste, fur/hair, and other unsanitary or hazardous materials Supervise play areas to ensure pet safety with a focus on training and behavioral techniques Keep records of feeding and play schedules for each dog Perform receptionist duties, such as answering phones, emails, and checking in/out clients Relay information to clients about their pets Requirements and Qualifications At least 17 years old Ability to maintain great attendance Prior experience at a dog daycare facility, shelter, or in personal animal care is preferred but not a must Familiarity with various dog breeds Passion for learning and personal growth Passion for taking care of animals Teamwork and communication skills Physical stamina for cleaning and maintaining kennel
