Why Join Us We're a locally owned, small business that takes pride in creating a professional but welcoming environment for both our employees and the pets in our care. At Bad to the Bone Boarding & Grooming, you're not just another employee in a large corporate operation. Our team works closely together, and we value communication, professionalism, quality work, and treating our employees with respect. We've built a strong reputation with our clients and have a loyal customer base that continues to grow. We already have a full schedule of clients waiting for our next groomer , so you won't be expected to spend your time building a clientele from scratch. We also have a full-time receptionist who helps with check-ins, scheduling, client communication, and day-to-day customer service, allowing our groomers to focus on what they do best: grooming dogs. Our Grooming Philosophy We believe the dog's comfort and well-being should always come before appearance. Dog comfort comes before appearance. We will never prioritize a perfect haircut over the comfort or safety of the dog. Matting is handled with the dog's comfort in mind. We understand that sometimes the kindest and safest option is to remove a heavily matted coat rather than put a dog through an unnecessarily painful dematting process. We do not expect our groomers to perform a "miracle" just because an owner wants the coat saved. Groomers are empowered to make professional decisions. We trust experienced groomers to use their judgment when determining what is safest and most humane for each individual dog. Quality matters, but so does compassion. We want beautiful grooms, but never at the expense of the dog's physical or emotional well-being. We believe in educating clients. When appropriate, we help owners understand coat maintenance, brushing, grooming frequency, and why certain grooming decisions are made for their pet's comfort. We treat every dog as an individual. Temperament, coat condition, age, behavior, and comfort level are all considered when determining how a groom should be approached. We're looking for a groomer who shares these values and wants to work somewhere that puts the dogs first while still taking pride in delivering high-quality professional grooming. Interested in Joining Our Team? If what you've read above sounds like the kind of grooming environment you've been looking for, I'd love to hear from you. My name is Garrett , me and my brother are the owners of Bad to the Bone Boarding & Grooming. I'm personally involved in our business and take a lot of pride in the environment we've created for our employees and the dogs we care for. If you're an experienced groomer, serious about your work, and feel that our grooming philosophy aligns with your own, give me a call or text directly at 913-704-8777. I'd rather have a conversation with someone who genuinely feels like they would be a great fit for our team than sort through a hundred applications that aren't a match. I look forward to hearing from you! — Garrett Owner, Bad to the
