Active Pet Sitter & Dog Walker — Part-Time, Flexible Job Overview Furry Friends Fitness is looking for a dependable, energetic, animal-loving Pet Sitter & Dog Walker to join our growing team in the Fuquay-Varina/Angier area. We are Not Just Sitting — we provide Active Pet Care! This is a part-time, flexible position for someone who genuinely enjoys being active with animals. Our sitters walk dogs, play with and exercise pets, provide enrichment and companionship, care for cats and other animals, complete drop-in visits, and may provide overnight pet sitting in clients' homes. You should be comfortable being on your feet, walking outdoors, playing with energetic animals, and caring for pets with different personalities, sizes, ages, and needs. This can be a great opportunity for teachers, college students, veterinary/vet-tech students, retirees, or other responsible animal lovers looking for meaningful, flexible part-time work. Responsibilities Provide loving, dependable pet care in clients' homes Walk and actively exercise dogs according to their individual needs Play with and provide enrichment for dogs, cats, and other pets Complete scheduled drop-in visits and potentially overnight stays Feed pets and provide fresh water according to client instructions Administer medications when required and appropriately instructed Clean litter boxes, accidents, food/water areas, and other pet-related messes Follow each client's care instructions carefully Take photos and provide friendly, detailed updates after visits Observe pets for changes in behavior, health, appetite, or mobility and promptly report concerns Respect clients' homes and leave pet-care areas clean and tidy Arrive on time and remain for the entire scheduled visit Represent Furry Friends Fitness professionally, compassionately, and reliably What We're Looking For Genuine love and respect for animals Active and physically capable of regularly walking dogs and playing with pets Reliable personal transportation and a valid driver's license Reliable smartphone with access to text, email, photos, and scheduling tools Dependable, punctual, and able to follow schedules and detailed instructions Comfortable walking dogs outdoors in typical North Carolina weather Comfortable caring for animals of different sizes, breeds, energy levels, and temperaments Comfortable working independently in clients' homes Strong communication and customer-service skills Willing and able to take quality pet photos and provide visit updates Some availability for mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays is highly valuable Overnight availability is a plus Previous professional pet-care experience is helpful, but reliability, good judgment, willingness to learn, physical activity, and a genuine love of animals are extremely important to us. Experience in veterinary medicine, vet-tech programs, animal rescue, dog training, pet sitting, dog walking, animal care, or similar fields is a plus.
