Job Description

Position Summary The Bilingual Animal Caretaker/Custodian provides compassionate care and maintenance for animals housed at our hospital. This role ensures the safety, health, and well-being of all animals while maintaining clean, sanitary, and humane living conditions. The ideal candidate is fluent in English and Spanish and can communicate effectively with diverse team members and Doctors. Key Responsibilities Flexible availability Monday•Friday MUST work on the 2nd and 5th weekend of each month, as well as holidays Weekend shift hours are as follows:
Morning:
6:30 am•8:30 am (Saturday & Sunday)
Afternoon:
5:00 pm•7:00 pm (Saturday & Sunday) Feed, water, and monitor animals according to established schedules and dietary requirements. Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and animal care areas daily. Clean and disinfect the hospital daily Observe animals for signs of illness, injury, or behavioral changes and report concerns promptly. Assist with animal handling during examinations, vaccinations, and transfers. Maintain accurate records of feeding, cleaning, and animal care activities. Communicate with the public, adopters, and volunteers in both English and Spanish. Provide excellent customer service and assist with animal intake and discharge. Follow all safety and sanitation protocols to prevent disease transmission. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate effectively with a team Strong communication skills for interacting with both team members and clients Genuine love for animals and dedication to their well-being

Rabies Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish . Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying environmental conditions. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Compassion, patience, and a genuine love for animals.
