Job Description

Kennel Assistant Reporting Structure:
The Kennel Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Kennel Supervisor on duty who will indicate general assignments and priorities.
Kennel Assistant Objectives:
The Kennel Assistant provides care and basic needs to animals that are being groomed, boarded, or are patients of Ann Road Animal Hospital. Duties include but are not limited to cleaning, laundry, baths, nail trims, walking, proper feeding, and care of all boarded patients.
Essential Functions:
Record keeping including feeding schedules, appearance, behavior etc. Observations of animal appearance, physical condition, illnesses/disease etc. Animal restraint and care Animal grooming, feeding and walking Animal and kennel transportation Area sanitation and trash disposal Aggressive animal management Position type and expected hours of work: Full Time preferred (part time to be discussed with manager) Monday - Sunday; 8 hour shifts Weekend shift required Holidays required
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent Previous veterinary experience preferred Exhibit a technical knowledge of products and medications Demonstrate the ability to explain and educate clients on products and answer their questions regarding product purchase/use.
Pay:
$12.00 - $13.00 per hour
