Job Description

Animal Care Assistant needed at a private stable with 16 retired horses and donkeys in Millbrook, NY. This is a part-time position, 16-20 hours a week, with weekend flexibility required. Horse experience is necessary, please note there is no riding at this facility.

Responsibilities include:

General horse care: feeding, mucking, turning in/out, grooming and holding for the farrier and vet.

Barn and paddock maintenance:

picking sheds, dragging paddocks, repairing fences, and maintaining cleanliness. Basic equine first aid knowledge required including ability to recognize injury and illness, take temperature, soak/wrap a hoof, wrap legs, wound care, and administer medications under supervision. Experience driving tractors and using power tools is helpful. Excellent work ethic and ability to work independently is a must. Please submit resume for consideration. Pay:

$26.00 - $28.00 per hour
