About Jauja Pet Grooming:
At Jauja, we deliver high-quality, personalized care for every dog. We are looking for a proactive, team-oriented, and pet-loving individual to join our growing team at our Rye, NY location.
Who We Are Looking For:
We need a versatile professional who enjoys customer service at the front desk as well as hands-on work with pets in the bathing and drying area. You should be a natural problem-solver under pressure, comfortable working with dogs of all breeds, and fluent in both English and Spanish .
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk & Client Relations:
Check dogs in and out, process payments (Square), manage appointment scheduling, and communicate clearly with owners regarding service updates and pick-up times.
Bathing & Prep Support:
Bathing, high-velocity drying, brushing, and preparing dogs for the lead groomers to maintain an efficient workflow.
Dog Handling & Safety:
Safely, patiently, and gently handle dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
Problem Solving:
Handle schedule adjustments, client inquiries, or unexpected daily operational needs with a positive, calm, and professional approach.
Shop Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in both the reception and bathing/grooming areas.
Qualifications:
Bilingual Required:
Fluent in both English and Spanish (verbal and written). Prior experience in a pet grooming salon, veterinary clinic, dog daycare, or animal care facility preferred. Familiarity with basic grooming terminology (coat types, deshedding, sanitary trims, full grooms vs. bath touch-ups). Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a problem-solving mindset. Punctual, reliable, and physically able to lift and handle dogs comfortably.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
