Position Summary:
The Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) is currently welcoming applications for full-time Animal Care Associates who will primarily focus on the care and well-being of dogs in our shelter. This role also includes a secondary emphasis on providing care and support for our cat and small animal residents. As an Animal Care Associate, you'll play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to dogs, cats, and small animals. Key Responsibilities:
Dog Focus:
Provide daily care, feeding, and monitoring of dogs of varies breeds and sizes. Assist with walking, exercising, and socializing dogs in accordance with their individual needs. Assist in training and behavior modification activities for dogs, as required. Clean and maintain animal enclosures, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment. Socialize and interact with animals to improve their overall well-being and adoptability. Keeps supervisor informed of animal behavior, health, or other concerns. Provide enrichment activities and mental stimulation for dogs. Does animal laundry and dishes throughout the day. Stocks areas and spot-cleans animals and public areas throughout the day. Promptly moves animals (adoption, isolation, quarantine, etc.) as instructed. Provides professional visitor, staff, and volunteer care - with the highest standards of customer care and service.
