Job Description

CHA Animal Shelter is currently hiring 2 part-time Animal Caretakers to join our team! Position 1:
Hours:
7am - 12pm, Monday - Friday CHA Animal Shelter is currently hiring an Animal Caretaker with the work schedule of 7am-12pm, Monday-Friday. Duties of this position include exercising & walking dogs, hosing and mopping dog runs and cages, taking out trash, washing dishes, and completing other daily cleaning tasks such as disinfecting pet carriers, cleaning bathrooms, organizing donations, and restocking supplies. While this position focuses heavily on working with shelter dogs, the position may assist with providing care to shelter cats as needed. Position 2:
Hours:
11am - 3pm, Monday - Friday CHA Animal Shelter is currently hiring an Animal Caretaker / Adoption Counselor with the work schedule of 11am-3pm, Monday-Friday. Duties of this position include exercising dogs, acting as an adoption counselor and assisting shelter visitors between 12pm to 2pm, performing administrative duties such as returning voicemails and emails, and cleaning/disinfecting cat adoption spaces daily.
For Both Positions:
Work is performed in an animal shelter setting. Standard office and medical environment, with exposure to hazardous chemicals, anesthetics and sharp objects, potential of exposure to parasites and infectious diseases that can be carried and transmitted by animals. Individual will have extended periods of sitting, standing, stretching and bending and should be able to lift 50 pounds. CHA offers generous vacation and personal time as well as veterinary benefits. We are unable to offer in-house health insurance.
