Job Description

Job Summary:

This candidate is passionate about grooming, has a growth mindset, values building a rewarding relationship with clients and their pets and wants to take more ownership over those relationships, as well as exemplifies strong canine handling skills. This position is for an in-shop groomer. This is not a training or learning position.
Requirements:
⁃ At least one full weekend per month, one weekend day each week. Rest of schedule flexible. ⁃ Formal training or apprenticeship in grooming and no less than 2 years grooming independently (with more preferable) ⁃ The ability to groom independently with little to no help. ⁃ Knowledge of different dog breeds and their specific grooming requirement and temperaments. ⁃ Ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and patience and the physical stamina to handle heavy lifting (e.g., lifting large dogs onto grooming tables) ⁃ Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners ⁃ Attention to detail to ensure precision in grooming tasks ⁃ A portfolio or photos of your most recent work needs to be submitted within the application process. We have very high standards for grooming quality.
Responsibilities:
⁃ Grooming all breeds according to specific breed standards as needed as well as customer preferences ⁃ Customer service and engagement through check-in, check-outs and relationship building. Providing excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and ensuring their satisfaction ⁃ Safely maneuvering the dog within its range of motion, understanding canine behavior and modifying technique in order to best serve the client. ⁃ Completing minimal paperwork and records keeping, as well as additional services we perform for our clients (holiday photos, etc). ⁃ Workspace cleanliness/completing a cleaning list at the end of your shift.
