Rose City Dogs is looking for thoughtful, reliable people interested in developing real skills in canine care, behavior, group management, and enrichment. Our Canine Care Specialists don't simply supervise dogs while they play. They learn to recognize canine communication. They manage social interactions. They notice when a dog is becoming overwhelmed, over-aroused, uncomfortable, tired, or unsure. They help dogs practice calm transitions, appropriate social behavior, confidence, impulse control, and everyday manners. And yes—they clean. A lot. Professional animal care includes playrooms, kennels, dishes, laundry, food preparation, yards, bodily fluids, sanitation, and all of the behind-the-scenes work required to maintain an exceptional canine-care environment. What You'll Do You'll spend your shifts: Managing social groups of dogs Learning and applying canine body-language and behavior principles Supporting appropriate play and social interactions Helping dogs rest, regulate, and transition successfully Observing and reporting behavioral and health changes Assisting with enrichment activities Feeding and providing routine daily care Cleaning and sanitizing playrooms, kennels, equipment, and common areas Communicating important observations to your team Completing daily operational tasks Continually developing your canine-care skills No two days—or two dogs—are exactly alike.
