Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Dog Groomer to join our salon! As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for providing grooming services to dogs of every breed, ensuring they look and feel their best. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who have a love for animals and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:
- Perform grooming services such as bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling according to client preferences
- Provide nail trims, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing, nail filing, ear plucking
- Assess the overall health of pets and report any abnormalities or concerns to the pet owner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area
- Ensure the safety and well-being of pets during the grooming process
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming needs and preferences
- Handle difficult or anxious pets with patience and care
- Keep accurate records of each pet's grooming history
Skills:
- Previous experience as a Dog Groomer (preferably 2+ years with low incident reports)
- Knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming requirements
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and body language
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Time management skills
- ability to groom at least 5 dogs in an 8 hour shift
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners Grooming can be stressful!
