Responsibilities Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and pet coat styling tailored to each dog's breed and individual needs. Handle animals with care using animal handling techniques and animal restraint skills to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, brushing, and other grooming tasks with precision and compassion. Communicate clearly with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions to ensure satisfaction. Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, adhering to sanitation standards and safety protocols at all times. Assist with pet care routines such as feeding or administering basic veterinary-related tasks if needed, leveraging veterinary experience or veterinary technician background. Support kennel duties or pet sitting responsibilities when required, including heavy lifting of animals or equipment to ensure smooth daily operations. Experience Prior experience in pet grooming is required for this position; familiarity with pet coat styling and pet grooming techniques is essential. Background in dog handling, animal handling, or companion animal handling enhances your ability to work confidently with diverse breeds. Experience in veterinary settings such as veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles is a plus, providing insight into animal health and behavior. Knowledge of animal restraint methods and pet nail trimming techniques ensures safe grooming sessions. Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners about grooming needs and providing outstanding customer service. Ability to perform heavy lifting of animals or equipment safely; previous kennel experience or pet sitting background is advantageous. Pay Starting pay is $20 per hour, OR 30% commission whichever is greater. We supply all supplies ( Shampoo, conditioner, sprays, shears, clippers, blades, tables, tubs, dryers, etc.), you only need to bring yourself and your skills. This position is scheduled based on grooming appointments and client demand, so we don't guarantee a specific number of hours each week. We're looking for someone who wants to build a consistent schedule with us, and as their clientele and bookings grow, there's definitely opportunity to work toward full-time hours. We provide the clients, scheduling, equipment/supplies, and a bather to help keep the groomer productive. Hours and pay will increase as the schedule continues to grow!
