Bachelor's degree education, communications, instructional technology, organizational leadership, business administration, higher education administration, or related field required. Four years of experience in training coordination, event planning, professional development support, instructional operations, webinar production, communications, project coordination, or related areas required. Experience supporting virtual, hybrid, or statewide training initiatives strongly preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Performs highly complex administrative and supervisory program work and supports the planning, coordination, delivery, and operational execution of professional development and statewide engagement activities for the Distance Education Professional Development Center ( DEPDC ), a statewide initiative supported through the Texas Workforce Commission ( TWC ). Works collaboratively with DEPDC trainers, instructional development staff, the DEPDC Senior Program Manager, and SHSU Online leadership to coordinate webinars, virtual trainings, regional events, conferences, academies, and statewide professional development initiatives supporting Adult Education and Literacy ( AEL ) providers across Texas. This is a full-time, temporary, benefits-eligible, grant funded position expected to end on or before 5/31/2027. Continuation of this position is contingent upon continued funding. Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only): Oversees logistics and operational support for webinars, virtual trainings, academies, regional events, and statewide professional development initiatives. Supports Distance Education Professional Development Center (DEPDC) trainers and facilitators before, during, and after training events. Implements scheduling, participant communication, registration management, attendance tracking, and follow-up activities. Serves as operational support for virtual and hybrid training sessions, including Zoom meeting setup, session monitoring, participant support, chat moderation, troubleshooting coordination, breakout room management, and facilitation support. Ensures smooth delivery and professional execution of virtual training environments. Plans operational coordination of the annual Digital Literacy & Technology Integration Symposium and other statewide DEPDC events. Supports on-site and virtual event operations as needed. Collaborates with the DEPDC Senior Program Manager and SHSU Online teams to support outreach and engagement efforts related to DEPDC initiatives. Assists with social media coordination, training announcements, promotional communications, website updates, and participant engagement activities. Ensures statewide providers are informed of upcoming training opportunities and events. Monitors participation, attendance, training activity data, and engagement metrics in support of grant reporting and operational assessment. Maintains training schedules, calendars, event records, and operational documentation. Prepares operational reports and statewide training summaries. Works collaboratively with instructional development teams, trainers, technical support personnel, communications staff, and statewide partners to ensure effective delivery of DEPDC training and engagement initiatives. Coordinates with the DEPDC Senior Program Manager to ensure continuity across statewide activities and operational workflows. Performs other related duties as assigned.
