Schedule:
Looking for someone to be used on fill in days, or for extra hands. Guaranteed a certain amount of hours per week. About FosterDocHouston FosterDocHouston Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) rescue in Magnolia currently providing a safe haven for 35-40 dogs. We are on a mission to save lives, and our weekend staff are part of the backbone of that mission. We are looking for a high-energy, dependable dog lover to join our team immediately.
The Role:
Safety, Love, & Care Because we are a smaller operation, our dogs depend entirely on the person working the shift. We need someone who is reliable and understands that their presence is vital to the health and happiness of our pups.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Movement:
Safely move dogs from kennels to outdoor play yards. You will manage both solo sessions and small group play with a "safety-first" mindset.
Constant Monitoring:
Maintain 100% attention to detail regarding dog body language and safety protocols to ensure a zero-incident environment.
Health & Feeding:
Manage once-daily feedings and ensure all dogs are eating and hydrated.
Communication:
Stay in constant contact with the team via walkie-talkie. You must be comfortable alerting leadership to any health or behavioral concerns immediately.
Kennel Upkeep:
Maintain a clean, healthy environment by cleaning and sanitizing both indoor and outdoor kennels throughout the shift.
Enrichment:
Most importantly, you are there to love them! Talking to, playing with, and comforting our dogs is a huge part of the job.
Requirements:
Extreme Reliability:
This is a major requirement. We need someone who shows up for the dogs every single shift unless a change is discussed well in advance (we do of course understand that on occasion things come up last minute but this cannot be a pattern).
Physical Stamina:
Ability to be on your feet for long hours of the day and handle dogs of various sizes and strength levels. Ability to be outdoors for long periods of time. Passion for

A genuine heart for dogs and a desire to see them thrive.
Communication Skills:
