Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team. As an Animal Care Attendant, you will be responsible for providing excellent care and support to the animals in our facility. This physically demanding role requires a love for animals and the ability to handle them with care.Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercise
- Clean and maintain kennels, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to supervising staff
- Assist with animal handling during examinations and procedures
- Provide basic training and socialization for dogs
- Interact with clients, providing exceptional customer service
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in animal care or related field preferred
- Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
