Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Canine Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, with a particular focus on dogs. This role involves working closely with canines in various settings, ensuring their well-being, safety, and training. The Canine Handler will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to dogs while also engaging with pet owners to deliver outstanding customer service. Responsibilities Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, grooming, and exercise. Implement training techniques to enhance obedience and behavior in dogs. Monitor the health and behavior of canines, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Assist with veterinary procedures as needed, utilizing knowledge from veterinary technician or assistant experience. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kennel or facility environment. Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets' progress and well-being. Handle animals safely and effectively, employing proper restraint techniques when necessary. Support in heavy lifting tasks related to animal care and facility maintenance. Qualifications Proven experience in dog handling or training is essential. Background in veterinary care (veterinary technician or assistant experience) is highly desirable. Familiarity with pet grooming practices is a plus. Experience in pet sitting or kennel environments preferred. Strong skills in animal handling and restraint techniques are required. Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for animal care tasks. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is crucial for success in this role.
