Operation Freedom Paws is a non-profit organization whose mission is to save lives through human-canine service dog partnerships. Job Summary As a Kennel Technician, you will play a vital role in the care and well-being of dogs at our 24/7 facility. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the comfort, safety, and cleanliness of all the dogs in our care. Responsibilities ~ Provide daily care for dogs including feeding, watering, training, and exercising. ~ Take dogs out individually for walks and potty breaks, engage in playtime tailored to each dog's needs and temperament. Supervise small playgroups to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment. ~ Clean and sanitize kennels, runs, crates and play areas. Wash and sanitize water dishes, bedding, toys, and other equipment. - Monitor the health and behavior of dogs and report any concerns to supervisors ~ Administer meals and medications as directed ~ Assist with answering phone calls and interacting with customers. ~ Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization of the kennel areas. Job Shifts We are a 24/7 facility and are staffed accordingly. This position is looking to cover shifts ranging from 6am-3pm, 9am-6pm, 11am-8pm, & 3pm-12pm. Weekend availability is required. Prefer open-availability for all shifts, requiring availability for 11-8 and 3-12 specifically. Requirements ~ Passionate about excellent dog care ~ High school diploma or equivalent ~ Valid driver license ~ Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team ~ Ability to follow protocols and instructions accurately. ~ Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes, including large breeds ~ Ability to stand, walk, and be active for an entire 8-hour shift. ~ Availability to work varied shifts including mornings (6 am - 3 pm), evenings (3 pm - 12 am), weekends, and holidays
