Job Description
Full Job Description Ki's K9 Training is expanding and seeking a driven, reliable, and detail oriented KennelTechnician to join our team in Chesapeake, VA. This is a hands on position in a structured, fast paced working dog environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable handling large and high energy dogs, attentive to detail, and able to follow established routines and safety procedures. The Kennel Technician will assist with the daily care of dogs, kennel sanitation, facility upkeep, basic grooming, medication administration, and safe dog handling while helping maintain a clean, organized, and professional environment. Duties & Responsibilities Perform daily kennel cleaning and sanitation. Feed, water, and monitor dogs according to established routines. Safely handle large, strong, and high energy dogs. Monitor dogs for changes in behavior, condition, or general well being. Perform bathing, nail trims, and other basic grooming. Administer medications as directed. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the facility. Follow established handling, cleaning, feeding, and safety procedures. Maintain awareness of dog behavior and surroundings while handling animals. Interact professionally with clients when needed. Communicate concerns or important observations to management. Assist with additional kennel and facility duties as needed. Qualifications & Requirements Reliable, punctual, and consistent. Comfortable working with large and high energy dogs. Able to follow structured systems and directions. Strong communication skills. Strong situational awareness. Detail oriented and able to maintain an organized workspace. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs . Professional attitude and strong work ethic. Able to work effectively in a fast paced environment. Previous kennel, dog handling, grooming, veterinary, or animal-care experience is a plus. Schedule Part-time or available. Morning and evening shifts sometimes full day but can leave & come back Specific hours and availability requirements to be discussed during the hiring process.
