Job Description

Overview Best Barber Boot Camp Academy is seeking experienced, licensed barbers who are passionate about teaching, mentoring, and helping young people develop real-world career skills. This is a project-based, part-time opportunity supporting our school and after-school enrichment partnerships throughout the Los Angeles area. Selected instructors will lead hands-on barbering classes while reinforcing professionalism, entrepreneurship, confidence, discipline, leadership, and career readiness. PAY $50 per hour
SCHEDULE
Programs typically run for 12 weeks Classes may meet two days per week Sessions are generally two hours Weekday and after-school availability may be required Schedules and school locations will vary by contract
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach introductory barbering techniques in a safe and engaging environment Follow the Best Barber Boot Camp curriculum and program structure Demonstrate sanitation, infection control, tool safety, and professional standards Support students with hands-on practice using mannequins and approved equipment Introduce students to entrepreneurship, customer service, pricing, branding, and business ownership Encourage discipline, confidence, communication, and leadership Track attendance, participation, and student progress Maintain professional communication with Best Barber Boot Camp leadership and school staff Set up and properly secure tools and equipment before and after each class
QUALIFICATIONS
Current California barber license Professional barbering experience Strong communication and classroom-management skills Dependable, punctual, patient, and professional Comfortable working with middle-school and high-school students Able to follow an established curriculum while bringing positive energy and real-world experience Reliable transportation to school locations throughout the Los Angeles area Must be willing to complete required background clearance, Live Scan, TB screening, mandated-reporter training, and other school-site requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous teaching, coaching, mentoring, or youth-development experience Experience owning or managing a barbershop or personal barbering business Knowledge of entrepreneurship, marketing, customer retention, social media, and personal branding Barber instructor experience is strongly preferred but not required
