Compensation:
$9/hour base pay + tips Our shampoo assistants typically average approximately $15-$25/hour in total earnings with tips. Tips vary based on client volume and shifts worked and are not guaranteed.

About the Position Urban L Salon is looking for a dependable, energetic and guest-focused Shampoo Assistant/Support Staff team member to join our team. This is an active, hands-on position in a busy salon. You will be on your feet throughout your shift and will help with shampooing guests, laundry, cleaning, restocking, supporting stylists and keeping the salon running smoothly. You do not need previous salon experience or a cosmetology license. We are happy to train someone who is hardworking, reliable, comfortable working with people and willing to learn. This position can be a great fit for someone interested in the beauty industry or someone with experience in hospitality, restaurants, retail or customer service who enjoys staying busy and taking care of people. What You'll Do Provide shampoos and customized hair treatments after training Create a relaxing, elevated shampoo experience for our guests Assist stylists with guest preparation and throughout appointments Greet guests and assist with complimentary beverages Communicate with stylists to help keep appointments running smoothly Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the salon Keep up with laundry throughout your shift Restock products, supplies and stylist areas Assist with inventory and general salon maintenance Jump in and support the team wherever needed during busy periods Who We're Looking For Dependable and punctual Friendly and comfortable interacting with guests Strong customer service and communication skills Willing to learn and comfortable taking direction Proactive — you notice what needs to be done without always being asked Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment Comfortable performing physical work and being on your feet throughout your shift Detail-oriented and committed to cleanliness A team player with a positive, professional attitude Previous salon or beauty industry experience is a plus, but it is not required. We will train the right candidate. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys supporting a team and understands that the small details make a big difference in the guest experience.
